Hi, I’m David
I offer compassionate, non-directive person-centred therapy, providing a safe, accepting space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at your own pace. Whether you’re navigating difficult feelings, processing past events, or seeking personal growth, I’ll walk alongside you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.
In addition to person-centred counselling, I also offer EMDR therapy — to help process trauma and alleviate distressing memories. This allows me to offer a more comprehensive approach to healing, whether you choose to incorporate EMDR alongside your regular sessions or as a standalone treatment.
Not sure if therapy is right for you? I offer a free 20-minute video consultation so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.
You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone — I’m here when you’re ready.
What is Person-Centered Counselling?
Person-Centered Counselling is a non-directive form of talk therapy that focuses on the individual’s ability to find their own solutions and achieve personal growth. This approach is grounded in the belief that every person has an inherent capacity for self-awareness, self- healing, and self-actualization when given the right conditions.
Unlike some therapeutic models where the counselling takes on the role of an expert or guide, in person-centered counselling, the client is seen as the expert in their own life. The counsellor’s role is to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where the client can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely.
Core Conditions of Person-Centered Counselling:
Empathy:
The counsellor strives to deeply understand the client’s perspective and feelings, providing a sense of being truly heard and accepted.
Unconditional Positive Regard:
The counsellor offers genuine, non-judgmental support, accepting the client for who they are without conditions or criticism.
Congruence:
The counsellor is authentic and transparent, fostering a trusting relationship where clients feel comfortable being open and honest.
Location
My practice is located at Office 3, South Lynn Community Centre, King’s Lynn. Norfolk. It is located on a bus route for easy access and also has sufficient, free, off-road parking, with a private entrance to my office.
