About Me

I am a registered person-centred counsellor with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centered Counselling from The Norwich Centre. I came to counselling after many years of personal and professional growth, rooted in the belief that each of us has an innate capacity for self-awareness, healing, and change. I bring a rich life experience to my practice, informed by decades in the business world and a lifelong journey of self-discovery and personal therapy.

Originally from South Africa, where I lived until moving to England in 2019, I spent over 35 years as the owner of a successful watch and jewellery wholesale business. Through the years, my own therapeutic journey began to transform my outlook, teaching me the importance of empathy, understanding, and unconditional acceptance. Since the age of 40, I have been engaged in my own therapy, an experience that has helped me grow in acceptance and empathy toward others.

What Guides My Work

My approach is deeply influenced by my life experiences and my belief in the transformative power of therapy. Years of personal development and self-inquiry have taught me to understand and appreciate the unique perspectives of others without judgment, fostering a space where clients can feel fully seen and heard. I’ve found that when we face life’s challenges with openness, the support we need often begins to appear. This trust in the process -and in each individual’s ability to grow and heal – is central to the work I do.

My Approach:

Person-Centered Counselling

Person-centred counselling is a non-directive, empathetic approach. I don’t see myself as someone who gives advice or prescribes solutions. Instead, I aim to provide a warm, accepting therapeutic environment where you can safely explore your emotions, develop self-awareness, and discover your own answers.

The foundation of this approach is the therapeutic relationship itself – based on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. Over time, this safe relationship can support you in reconnecting with yourself, breaking unhelpful patterns, and building a fuller, more authentic life.

EMDR Therapy

In addition to person-centred counselling, I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) – an evidence-based therapy recognised for its effectiveness in treating trauma, anxiety, phobias, grief, and emotional overwhelm.

I completed 50 hours of Basic EMDR Training (Parts I & II and consultation) with internationally renowned EMDR instructor Dr Philip Manfield, a leading expert in the field. This training is EMDRIA-approved and supported by the American Psychological Association.

EMDR works with the brain’s natural processing systems to help gently release the emotional charge of distressing memories. It can be used as a standalone therapy or integrated with person-centred work to support deeper healing and emotional resilience.

If you’re ready to explore your own journey, I look forward to creating a space where you feel safe, valued, and supported.
