I am a registered person-centred counsellor with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centered Counselling from The Norwich Centre. I came to counselling after many years of personal and professional growth, rooted in the belief that each of us has an innate capacity for self-awareness, healing, and change. I bring a rich life experience to my practice, informed by decades in the business world and a lifelong journey of self-discovery and personal therapy.
Originally from South Africa, where I lived until moving to England in 2019, I spent over 35 years as the owner of a successful watch and jewellery wholesale business. Through the years, my own therapeutic journey began to transform my outlook, teaching me the importance of empathy, understanding, and unconditional acceptance. Since the age of 40, I have been engaged in my own therapy, an experience that has helped me grow in acceptance and empathy toward others.
My Approach: Person-Centered Counselling
Person-centered counselling is a non-directive, empathetic approach. I don’t believe in directing clients or giving prescriptive advice. Instead, I see my role as creating a warm, accepting environment where you can safely explore your feelings, gain self-awareness, and uncover answers within yourself. I focus on building a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness.
Through this supportive relationship, clients can connect more deeply with themselves, break out of old patterns, and move towards a fuller, more meaningful life. I am fully committed to the principles of person-centered counselling, believing that the quality of our relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. My intention is to honour your autonomy and help you find your own path, free from any power imbalances or judgments.
What Guides My Work
My approach is deeply influenced by my life experiences and my belief in the transformative power of the person-centered approach. Years of therapy have taught me to understand and appreciate the unique perspectives of others without judgment, fostering a space where clients can feel fully seen and heard. I’ve found that when I face challenges with an open mind and heart, support often arrives just when it’s needed most. This faith in the process and trust in each person’s ability to find their way is what I bring to each session.
If you’re ready to explore your own journey, I look forward to creating a space where you feel safe, valued, and supported.
