We often tell the people we care about to “talk to someone,” “get support,” or “look after your mental health.” But when it comes to ourselves, it can feel harder to follow that same advice.
Maybe you’ve thought:
- “It’s not that serious.”
- “Other people have it worse.”
- “I should be able to handle this on my own.”
You’re not alone. Many of us delay reaching out for support, not realising how much it’s affecting our wellbeing — or how helpful therapy can actually be.
Let’s break the stigma.
Therapy isn’t about being broken. It’s about giving yourself the time and space to understand what you’re feeling and why. It’s about reconnecting with yourself — with support and without judgment.
Counselling provides a safe, non-judgmental space to talk, reflect, and heal. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to benefit. Whether you’re dealing with stress, low confidence, unresolved trauma, or simply feeling stuck — talking to someone can help.
What if talking alone hasn’t worked for you before?
That’s where EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) can be incredibly powerful.
Some experiences — especially those linked to trauma, anxiety, or loss — stay locked in our nervous system. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to help your brain process those experiences in a safe and effective way.
It’s backed by organisations like the World Health Organisation (WHO) and NICE (UK), and can bring real, lasting relief — even when talking alone hasn’t been enough.
A combined approach: EMDR & Person-Centred Therapy
Every person’s healing journey is different. That’s why I offer both person-centred therapy and EMDR, either on their own or in combination.
In person-centred therapy, you lead the pace and direction — I’m here to support you, not direct you. When paired with EMDR, it becomes a powerful combination of emotional exploration and deeper trauma processing.
Clients often say they feel more in control, more aware of themselves, and better able to cope with life’s challenges.
Not sure where to start? Let’s just talk.
Taking the first step is often the hardest part — and I get that. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute online consultation, with no pressure or obligation. We can talk about what’s going on for you, what therapy might look like, and whether it feels like a good fit.
You deserve support. You deserve peace. And you don’t have to wait until things are at their worst to get help.
Let’s start where you are.
